- Wrinkled skin
How the session works
The CO2 laser is a laser whose gaseous medium consists of a mixture of carbon dioxide, nitrogen and helium. The CO2 laser can be used like a scalpel, in abrasive or heat mode, according to the indications to be treated.
The ultra-pulsed CO2 laser combines both high power and an extremely short pulse duration to carry out precise ablations without damaging the skin.
It restores the skin’s texture and tone, getting rid of all the imperfections deeply.
When combined with Erbium, the CO2 laser causes deep skin abrasions.
The surface of the skin is sanded down through a controlled burn, which stimulates the production of new collagen.
The procedure takes place under local anaesthetic as an outpatient. It takes about an hour. However, this time varies depending on the depth of the wrinkles to be treated. The heat of the laser beam gradually restores the skin’s normal hold. It also promotes collagen formation, which will fill the hollows on the face left by wrinkles.
For the ultra-pulsed CO2 laser, the follow-up is: scabs for about 8 to 10 days and mild redness for 2 to 4 weeks, no sun for 4-6 weeks without total sunblock.
For the CO2 Erbium laser, the follow-up is: a dressing for 4 days and then applying Vaseline for 6 days after the removal of the dressing, taking antibiotic and anti-herpes treatments for 10 days, no sun for 4 months without total sunblock, severe reddening for 1 to 3 months.
Resurfacing treats facial blemishes. It aims to restore a clear and smooth texture to skin which is suffering from the adverse effects of advanced age.
The CO2 laser treats deep wrinkles such as frown lines or nasolabial folds on mature skin. The Erbium Yag laser eliminates embarrassing fine lines on young skin.
A single session is enough to restore the skin’s elasticity. Your skin will be smoother and clearer after your first session.
The results are both satisfying and impressive.
Sometimes the practitioner uses the CO2 laser and the Erbium Yag laser at the same time to treat deep wrinkles.
The CO2 laser result is immediate.
